38 Weeks

Munchkin is the size of a Pumpkin!
38 weeks ~ 9th month ~ 3rd trimester

Weight Gain: Way too much… Swelling and extra fluid are a &$*#&!

Sleep: Depends on the night and what I did that day. If I am more active but rest right before bed I am pretty comfortable sitting up and slightly to one side or the other. Thank goodness for all 7 of my pillows, a king size bed, and a very understanding husband!

Miss Anything?: Instead of focusing on what I am missing about not being pregnant, I decided this week I want to focus on what I will miss about being pregnant since this little girl does eventually have to come out.
… being pregnant is such a great conversation starter in the store, especially when it looks like you are going to pop any second
… sitting in baby girls room quietly watching my belly move wondering what she is doing in there
… having an excuse to sit down while I watch Rob vacuum the house
… feeling those hiccups in my lower belly multiple times a day, she is just like her brother when she gets them once she has them all day
… the satisfaction that even if I didn’t get much accomplished on any given day, I was still busy growing a human
… the hustle and bustle of wondering if each little cramp or kick will send me into labor
… dreaming of what she will look like
… taking photos of my growing belly

Movements: Her movements are slowing down a little but I think it’s because she is running out of room. I still feel her moving around more than enough but they are slower and smaller movements.

Cravings: Lemon Meringue Pie! Wait, what?!? Iv’e never even had it before… Thanks to Pinterest though, I saw a recipe last night and that was all I could think about for the rest of the evening. I don’t even know if I would enjoy it but man I was willing to give it a try! The weird and random cravings have definitely started, lol.

What I Am Looking Forward To: My moms group is having a local play date at someones home today and Rob is off so I have the car! I am excited to see everyone and give Parker some playtime with his friends. Even though I have been anxious to meet baby girl I have been able to get quite a bit done and made up a to-do list of some other items that would feel great to get accomplished. I figure I will just keep making to-do lists until she decides it’s time. My 38 week appointment went really well and I left feeling optimistic that my body is at least going in the right direction. If I do make it to next week I am meeting with one of the delivery midwives which will be nice. I have met a few during my stays in L&D over the last few months but have never had one on one time with them in the office.
