… were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

I’ve been wanting to work on a pallet project for awhile now. There are so many great ideas on Pinterest and with the holiday season coming up I decided to turn one into a tree. When I was home in NJ we took Parker outside to pick some apples in the backyard. I noticed a pallet at the end of our driveway. I asked my Dad what it was doing there and he said he had put a free sign on it. As I started literally skipping down the driveway I yelled, “are you kidding me you don’t give these away!”.

My Dad helped me cut the pallet into a tree shape and reinforce the horizontal pieces.

I love how imperfect the wood on pallets are. It really gives it character.

I wanted to keep it rustic looking but did a quick sand to avoid splinters.

I used my Silhouette to make a stencil for the quote and we added the & at the top for a “star” effect.

It was still missing something so I painted some white snowflakes to add to the holes on the tree.

I am SO happy with the final product. We made sure to secure it safely to the wall. We also used heavy duty hooks to hang each stocking so Santa can fill it with goodies!
