Hi and welcome! We are a silly, adventurous, cuddly family of four. We love lazy Saturday morning breakfast, Sunday football games, visits to the local farmers market, holiday traditions, and road trip adventures. As a military family we try to enjoy every moment we can together since we know all to well what it is like apart. Life is certainly more hectic and unorganized with two little ones at home but we try to make the best out of the time we have.
How it all began
Rob proposed to me on Christmas Eve with an ornament he had made while in Disney the month before. Exchanging ornaments is my favorite family tradition and now holds a special place in my heart. I LOVED planning our wedding and looking back, wouldn’t have minded being engaged a little longer ;). We decided to get married during the annual Cherry Blossom Festival in DC so our friends and family could explore the city during one of DC’s biggest and most beautiful celebrations. The weather was memorable (sleet, rain, and sun) but we still managed to get amazing pictures around DC with all of the cherry blossoms in bloom. The whole weekend was amazing and one we will never forget! You can read all about our wedding here.
I am an early 30’s bag lady, pack-rat, and crafter since my toddler years. I LOVE a tidy and organized home even if it means losing a little sleep to organize one more drawer. I work well with a schedule and have a spreadsheet for just about anything imaginable. Iv’e always been a crafter at heart and love expressing myself through art. Even though I have a Bachelors in Art Therapy and a Masters in Student Affairs, I have always dreamed about being a stay at home mommy. When I made the decision to stay at home it took quite a while to figure out what my responsibilities would be and what I want to achieve by staying at home. I started Cherry Blossom Love as a way to document my pregnancy with Parker but it has grown into so much more. Blogging has given me a chance to express myself, connect with the outside world, meet some amazing women, and find a way to continue helping people. I love researching different topics and love when people ask me questions about baby wearing, living green, cloth diapers, or saving money without spending too much time cutting coupons. In June of 2016 I opened up my online shop, designsBYmcm on Facebook, selling personalized gifts for any occasion. It has been wonderful to get back into crafting and really work with customers to make the perfect gift.
Rob is one of the sweetest, smartest, and kindest man I have ever met, so of course I married him! He is one of those individuals who is great to have on your team when playing random trivia games. He is Baltimorian and dedicated fan of the Ravens and Orioles. He is an expert of weather (50% of the time) and while he may say he is an amateur photographer, you will quickly realize he is just being modest. He spends his spare time serving in the Air National Guard as a weather forecaster. He completed his Masters Degree in Military Studies at Marine Corp Command & Staff College at Quantico.
