Caity’s Latest at 27 Months

Here is a little insight to our ever growing little miss sassy pants.

She is talking in 3-4 word sentences, can answer questions, and for the most part pronounces words correctly. The few exceptions are manna (bananna), gwenguin (penguin), and top it (stop it). One of my favorite things she does right now is lifts her pointer finger saying “wait” to go and get something. It’s hilarious to witness especially with her sass behind it. She will also always say, “hi Mom or hi Dad” when she walks into a room. If we are on FaceTime with them and both Rob and I are not in the picture she will say, “mommy go? or daddy go?” Some of the cutest words and phrases she is saying right now are love you, hi, Parker (in a sing song yelling voice), have it, no like it, and huggles.

She is laying down for naps on her own but still wants one of us to hold her hand until she drifts off to sleep at night. She has a bedtime routine that she strictly enforces. Quite play, brush teeth, stories (Jungle, Paw Patrol, Frozen, and then Gorilla), then tuck in with her baby and hold hand.

We have pretty much stopped using the stroller. She goes in the cart or I wear her, love my Tula. She is no longer using a high chair or booster seat. Most days I throw a diaper in my purse or forgot the diaper bag all together. She can drink out of a normal cup if necessary but prefers her Sassy sippy cup.

Favorite Song: Little Piggies (during every diaper change, with both feet)

Favorite Show: Paw Patrol and Bubble Guppies

Favorite Food: Anything brother is eating

Favorite Activity: Huggles and playing chase with brother

Favorite Toy: Hands down her baby doll, a very specific one

She is hands down our little dare devil and LOVES carnival rides, going fast, and climbing high.

Sammy & Sophia’s Favorite Accessories

Over the last few years I have collected quite a few outfits for Sammy and Sophia that I just adore. They mostly wear the aviation jacket and plaid skirt but every once in awhile they come back from the North Pole in a different outfit, sometimes specific to the mischief they have gotten themselves into. Here are a few of our favorites!

Aviator Jacket | Plaid Skirt & Boots | Robe | Boys T-ShirtsPjays | Girls T-Shirts | TuxedoSatin Tiered Skirt

The robes are definitely for the marshmallow bath and the pajamas are perfect for Christmas Eve morning. The t-shirts are new this year and I am excited to start changing them out throughout the month as well.

Sammy & Sophia Are Back!!!

There are so many things I love about the Christmas season. Time with family, the cold weather, decorating the tree, cookies, and watching the joy on Parker and Caity’s faces. Most of all though, I think it’s our elves Sammy and Sophia. Planning out a month of fun things for them to be doing really keeps me in the spirit of wonder and excitement all month. Not to mention watching the kids faces every morning as they look to see what mischief they got in.

Last year I created a calendar to help facilitate Sammy and Sophia’s daily movements. It made things much easier and a lot more fun! Out of all of them these were probably my favorite.

This year I want to incorporate a little decorating and family oriented. Sammy and Sophia stick to more lighthearted mischief and role model good behavior. I also don’t focus much on them reporting back to Santa although desperate times we casually remind Parker that Sammy has an in with Santa.

Caity’s Favorites at 26 Months

Since things are a little crazy here getting ready for Thanksgiving I thought I would make this months update a little easier and share some of her absolute favorites at the moment.

favorites

Dushi Doll Stroller  |  Skip Hop Jump Backpack  |  aden & anais  |  Pop Up Jungle  |   Corolle Baby Doll

She has been inseparable with her baby doll and loves pushing her around the house picking up little things she finds here are there. Anytime we go out she also likes to bring her backpack filled with goodies. It’s cute watching her go around the play room and pick out what she wants each time.

She is currently loving bed time routine including shower/bath, brushing teeth, reading stories and having me lay next to the crib and hold her hand. Her absolute favorite book right now is Pop Up Jungle. Ironically enough I had purchased this book back when I worked at TRU. Apparently I have good taste, lol! She also loves cuddling up with her blankets at night. I got the set of 4 so that we could rotate them more often however, she has different plans and requires 2 to sleep with. I’ve tried to give her the slip at night but she will look at me and say, “two peas”.

All Hallows’ Eve

~ HAPPY HALLOWEEN ~

We spent the weekend entertaining guests, painting pumpkins, attending parties, and eating more candy than we thought possible.

We decided to continue supporting the Teal Pumpkin Project and offered a variety of non food treats for the kids. This was our stash from Walmart which was divided between a Halloween event and then our trick-or-treaters. I decided against the bubbles (pictured left) because they had no markings on them and they were a little shady looking. Well done Walmart, well done.

I gathered up some decorations around the house to dress up the front porch a little for the kiddos.

My parents and Rob took the kids around the block with our neighbor who is in Parker’s class. I found Caity’s costume on clearance last year and just knew she would make the cutest little Care Bear 🙂 Parker picked his outfit out at Costco, mainly for the whistle.

I whipped up a shirt supporting my all time favorite movie, Hocus Pocus, and paired it with LLR bat leggings.
