Early this week I shared some goals for myself and my family in 2015. Instead of just leaving it as a list, I wanted to take the next few weeks to elaborate on these goals to help put a plan in place for achieving them. First up, My 2015 Transformation.
As I look back on our 2013 and 2014 resolutions I can’t help but notice a trend. I spent so much time helping everyone else achieve their goals mine were always put off. As a result, I am starting the new year the heaviest and unhappiest I have ever been. I live in dirty yoga pants, rarely wash my hair, and avoid mirrors like the plague.
Iv’e decided this year will be different. 2015 will be a year dedicated to getting my health and happiness on track. While it may seem selfish at first glance, I cannot take care of my family the way they need it if I don’t start making changes. The tricky part is figuring out how to accomplish this as a SAHM of a toddler, infant, and husband in school.
Having had luck in the past, I joined another DietBet game. This time I decided to participate in their Transformation Challenge which lasts 6 months. It was quite a bit of money up front but that only helps with my motivation to succeed. Every month I have a certain % I need to lose and by the end of June I will have lost at least 10%.
I have always been a BIG fan of Weight Watchers. Back in 2008 I lost about 40 lbs and was so happy with myself. Iv’e tried to rejoin countless times since then but haven’t been successful. It’s hard to find time to get away with 2 kids but Rob and I came up with a game plan and I will be bringing Caity to meetings until she is a little older. All I need to do is focus on attending the meeting weekly and tracking. I know the weight will come off if I do those two things.
Exercise is probably the hardest thing to work into my life. I am so exhausted at the end of the day engaging in a rigorous workout sounds miserable. Normally I try to get blogging done during nap time if Caity will let me. Instead I plan to dedicate that time to exercise and shower. My sister has been using an app on her iPad called, Yoga Studio. It’s really neat and you can choose shorter or longer sessions based on the amount of time you have. Once I have lost a bit of weight I will start the T25 workout program I purchased last year. Around September I am hoping to start running again and plan to run Princess Half Marathon Weekend in 2016. My goal is to run the half marathon, 10K and 5K. Rob thinks I am crazy but it is the closest I will ever get to running a marathon.
Something new I want to try and focus on this year is my mental health. It’s almost impossible to take time for myself but I want to try once a week to get at least an hour to myself to take a bath or run to the grocery store by myself. Thrilling I know, but it’s better than nothing. I have also set a few other goals for myself like reading a book and replacing my wardrobe.
So here I am, currently 31 years old weighing in at 224 pounds. I plan to share my progress over the next 12 months and hope to end 2015 a new and happier woman and mother.
