WW Wednesday in DC

What a beautiful day!

My SAH Mommas group spent the day in the city walking around the monuments. Since there were 3 little ones, we didn’t get all that much sight seeing in but it was such a beautiful day we didn’t care! 🙂 We met at the Smithsonian metro stop and worked are way around the Washington Monument, WWII Memorial and Lincoln Memorial. We had to stop a few times for diaper changes and feedings but we didn’t mind. It was such a beautiful day outside that the fresh air and breeze was relaxing.

It would have been a perfect trip if was able to find where I had parked a little easier. I remembered where I parked, I just couldn’t find it. I swore it was GG5 but all I could find was G5 and no car. Then I realized that I turned in the wrong direction when I got off the elevator and there are two separate garages. P was so cute watching me try to find the car 🙂 I am glad he didn’t really know what was going on!

Here are some of my favorite shots for of the day!

First outside bump metro ride!

Enjoying the breeze! He absolutely loved looking around.

Real men wear pink! Mommy remembered everything but a hat. It’s okay though, he didn’t like the carrier  (or the hat) very much. He preferred to stay in the stroller and look around while playing with Frey!

I can’t share my weight loss today because our scale is broken :/ I promise to report back next week with a hopefully nice loss. I wanted to get down to 200 lbs by the end of this month so I have just a few more days to achieve that! I am getting better each day with figuring out how to eat healthy and be a SAHM. It’s amazing how much more food for you bang you can get when choosing healthy options.

I decided to really test this theory out and put together breakfast, lunch and two snacks the night before.

Nature Valley granola bar, Yoplait, tuna sandwich, fruit cup, apple, cheese and crackers and carrots =  26 points!

I can’t believe all the food I got for only 26 points leaving me with 19 for dinner and an evening snack. A Burger King Whopper and fries come in around the same number of points. Of course, the above menu is lacking some chocolate but I can add a Skinny Cow candy bar for only another 2 points. This also includes 2 dairy, 3 fruit, 1 vegetable and protein.

I did want to share a really helpful article that I found on one of my favorite pregnancy/mommy blogs. It’s titled, How Real Moms Lose Weight, and can be found here. I can agree that it is so hard to find time for me, that when I do finally get it, exercising isn’t really top of my list. I have found ways to exercise while tending to P which include weights while breastfeeding!

Rob and P got to experience their first consignment sale today! One of my fellow Mommies told us about the Classy Kids Consignment Sale and we just had to go! They have a really great website where, as a new Mommy, I was able to purchase tickets to get into the sale first!

We got to try out our Becco Butterfly which P seemed to love (slept the whole time).
Our stash included a ball pit ($12), formula ($5) a Kelty Kids backpack/carrier ($25), some cute outfits, toys and fire boots! The Adirondack chair ($12) is for OBX in October 🙂

On the road again ~ First trip to NJ!

Friday we made our way to NJ for the weekend. It was perfect timing as I was starting to get a little cabin fever. It was great to be able to catch up on some blogging and organizing the hundreds of pictures we have taken of P so far. It’s amazing what you can get done when you don’t have a baby in your arms 24/7 😉

P did SO great in the car. We had to make a few stops and ended up “traveling” for about 9 hours. I sat in the back with him so that I could take care of puttting his paci back in his mouth everytime he knocked it out any small needs he had. We had to make 1 stop about an hour away from home for a diaper change and quick top off.

Rob’s enlistment was up so we stopped at Andrew’s Air Force Base so he could complete his reenlistment. It was really neat to witness it and am so proud of him and his continued dedication to our Country! I also got my new ID so I can go on base by myself if P and I ever need to go!

We stopped in Maryland so P could meet his Great Great Aunt Yi. He is named after her husband William Butler. She took us into her room and told us that she kisses the picture of her and “Uncle Bill” that we had restored for her. She now also keeps the picture of P right there and kisses him goodnight too. It brought tears to my eyes to see her with him!

On Saturday, Mom treated Sarah and I to pedicures and lunch which was amazing! I love spending time with my little man but it was nice to have some girl time.

Grandpa has a new name, Chief! He has been calling P little chief so I think it is appropriate that P calls him that when he gets older. I am curious to see what he can pronounce at first. While we were having our fun, Dad and Rob took P to the firehouse so he could and showed him all of the cool toys he gets to play with.

Chief, Bam and Aunt Sarah gave us the night off and we went to an AMC theater where you can order drinks, food and dessert in the theater while you are watching the movie. It was so cool and I had a great time! We had amazing food and watched Batman. It was really nice to spend time with Rob and we really appreciated being able to go out on our own.
