I like to keep busy, especially with Rob gone. It makes the time go by faster and keeps me up and moving. I had been going back and forth for a few months now on whether or not I wanted to follow through on my passion for organization and bags.
I finally decided it was time and am so excited to announce that I am now a Thirty-One Consultant. In celebration, I am hosting a launch party showcasing the new fall patterns and September special. I will be taking orders until September 15th. You can either email me or submit your order here. Just click My Parties on the left and choose Mary’s Thirty-One Launch Party.
I have also started a Facebook group, Life Organized in 31+ Ways to keep customers updated on sales, specials and the latest patterns. If you request to join by September 7th, you will be entered to win a Thirty-One prize.
There are some adorable new prints this season and Thirty-One has added a ton of new styles to keep you organized and ready for the holidays.
The Organizing Utility Tote is a favorite in our house and I use a few to keep me organized in my craft room and even Parker’s diaper bag. Paired with a few of the Zipper Pouches, this bag has all the style and functionality this momma needs! The September special is an amazing deal and a great way to get started on your holiday shopping.
If that wasn’t enough, Thirty-One is also giving a great incentive to host a party of your own, double credits! Same amount of work for twice the reward!
Since we primarily use cloth diapers, I won’t accumulate many of these but we like to have some on hand and so I have collected two of them so far. I had seen this idea awhile ago and absolutely love it. Baskets can get pretty expensive so this is a great way to organize knick-knacks or toys cheap!
I always felt as though I was fairly good at organizing. I took pride in my organizational skills and loved helping others find organization in their lives. However, I think I finally met my match when we brought Parker home from the hospital. Things got CRAZY! There were burp cloths, blankets, bottles and pacifiers all over the place. After about five days in, even though I was recovering from a c-section, I sat down and tried to figure out how to organize everything!
Now before you get too excited, I will warn you that there isn’t any “earth shattering tips here” but they have made a huge difference in the organization and sanity of my life! Here are a few things I came up with that have really helped out.
Blankets and burp cloths and pacifiers oh my!
For our house I spent a good amount of time on each of our three floors. I decided to choose a different style pacifier, burp cloth, blanket and bib for each floor and the diaper bag. This helps out a ton when I am doing laundry as I drop off each pile on the correct floor. I had a cheat sheet printed by the washer but after awhile, I didn’t need it anymore. This has been really important since I spend days alone with Parker. I couldn’t imagine in the middle of feeding him realizing I didn’t have a burp cloth or blanket (since he usually naps after eating).
I use the 6oz size for the nipple shield and the 8oz size for pacifiers. I have 4 sets and I keep one of each on every floor (and in the diaper bag) that had a different style pacifier in each. These have been such a great find! I love that they keep everything organized and away from as many germs as possible.
This was helpful in drying all of P’s pacifiers and bottle parts. We were trying out a few different bottles and it was already hard enough to figure out how to put them together. Throw in a missing piece and forget it! I also happen to link how stylish it looks on the counter although functionality was my biggest priority.
This helps out a ton for all of P’s socks and scratch mittens (when he used them) so they don’t get lost in the rest of the laundry. I just cloths pin it to his hamper and throw it in the wash when full.
Laundry is sometimes a tricky little beast that you think you have control over and then BAM, somehow you have no more undies and 10 loads to get done! As we plan for the new house, I am excited to have a room dedicated to just laundry and cleaning supply storage. Similar to the entry way, I am so excited to be able to use some of the inspirational ideas I have found on Pinterest.
First, is a laundry organization system that looks as cute as it organizes! This is a simple project that Rob assures me can be done in a few hours. It has gone on my wishlist for projects in the new house. I am doing to make plaques that tie to each of the baskets so everyone knows what goes where. I plan to have a separate basket for whites, lights, darks, baby, towel and special wash items.
I have something like this in our laundry room currently but didn’t get a chance to take a picture before I left. We have one container with Charlies Soap which we use to all of P’s cloths. Once we finish the current liquid laundry soap we have, I will be replacing it with powder.
Now-a-days, electronics are a part of my everyday life. I carry my iPhone around with me and use it to stay in touch with loves ones, track P’s eating and sleeping habits, take hundreds of pictures and more. I have a computer, two cameras and video camera that all require the use of a different power/charge cord and cord to connect with the computer.
For me to say that items so important in my life need to be organized would be an understatement!
I saw these two items on Pinterest and will be making one or the other for myself and others for Christmas. It is so convenient and I am constantly charging my iPhone in random places. The only thing that would make it better is if it folded to make a pouch for the charger and cord.
I always feel like I have won the lottery when I see and idea, or come up with it myself, where I can reuse something I already have to help organize something else. Reusing TP rolls is one of these! I came across the original idea on Pinterest where they used them in a shoe box to organize cords. Genius I thought! Now I no longer need to frantically search through a box to find something.
With all of those electronics, you need a space to charge everything. I always like for everything to be neat and organized, go figure. One of my biggest annoyances are cords. I hate when they are showing. This isn’t quite what I had in mind but give you an idea. I will be sharing more when I start posting all of the organizing I come up with in the new house!
