How do you make a perfect square in knitting?
It’s that simple! Continue knitting rows 1 and 2 until your square is as long as it is wide. To ensure your square is 8″ (20cm), either use a tape measure or form a triangle by folding one corner of your square over to meet the opposite corner as shown – if all sides are equal then you have a square! Cast off/bind off.
How many rows and stitches make a square?
Keep on going, knitting every row until you have a square – this will be about 120-130 rows. It should be approximately 12 inches by 12 inches but don’t worry if it’s a bit bigger or smaller – we will still be able to use it. Once you have finished knitting all your rows, cast off all the stitches.
