What does anchor mean in cross stitch?
When performing embroidery, needlepoint or cross stitch on fabric, it’s important to anchor your stitches properly. This will allow you to keep the thread or floss from pulling out of your first stitches without having a knot or a bulky section of thread to mar your design.
How do I make my cross stitch tighter?
If you stitch in hand you have to be more careful. I find that pulling the thread mostly through and then using my little finger in the hand holding the needle to “flick” the tail the final bit gives perfect tension and is reproducible for each stitch.
