What will happen if the pressure on foot presser is not correct?
If there’s too much pressure put down on the presser foot, your fabric will pucker. Not enough pressure and the presser foot will also make your fabric pucker or your thread gets tangled, in the front or the back of your sewing project.
How do you adjust the presser foot on a Brother sewing machine?
The pressure of the presser foot can be adjusted by turning the pressure adjustment screw at the top left of this machine. Since this machine has already been adjusted to a pressure suitable for light to medium fabrics, no further adjustment is necessary except when sewing on very heavy or very light materials.
Do you sew with the presser foot down?
Always be sure your presser foot is in the DOWN position before sewing. Sewing with the presser foot in the up position will cause your thread to tangle and your bobbin to jam. Change needles regularly (after every 6 – 8 hours of use) as dull/weak needles can cause damage to your machine and fabric.
