How do you knit the last stitch in a row?

How do you knit the first and last stitch in a row?

To create an even ‘knotted’ edge to you knitting on the first stitch you keep the yarn at the back and then slip the stitch knitwise. Then you just knit to the end of the row. This creates a tighter edge on your knitting.

How do you end the first row of knitting?

You should have one new knit stitch on your right (dominant hand) needle. Repeat the process to knit the other cast on stitches. Complete the first row. When all of the stitches are on your right needle, you have finished your first row of knitting.
