What does no stitch mean on a knitting pattern?
The squares that are not required in a particular row are “no stitch” squares. They are usually filled with a darker color than the rest of the chart, and can be ignored as you work the row.
What does set up round in knitting mean?
Set up round: [k9 (10, 11, 12, 13, 14), k2tog, PM] around. This means you are knitting 9 (10, 11, 12, 13, 14) stitches then knitting 2 stitches together, then placing a marker. Tip: these markers should be a different colour from the beginning of round marker to avoid confusion.
