- If you are making your onesie from a large shirt.
- Start with a onesie that fits your baby now.
- Lay it on top of the t-shirt, being sure that the neckline is centered.
- Next cut about an 1″ outside of the lines so you have seam allowance.
- Follow the lines of the back underwear panel of the onesie.
How many shirts does it take to make a quilt?
30 shirts will make a full size quilt, approx. 82″ x 96″ – 5 across x 6 down. 36 shirts will make a queen size quilt, approx. 96″ x 96″ – 6 across x 6 down.
How many shirts do I need for a men’s quilt?
As a rule of thumb I suggest the following number of medium sized men’s shirts:
- Wall hanging quilt: 4-6.
- Lap/Throw quilt: 6-8.
- Twin quilt: 9-12.
- Full/Double quilt: 12-14.
