These days, it is generally cheaper to buy a knitted item than knit one yourself. Visit a mall, and you can find knitted items like socks and sweaters in different designs and sizes. Although, it is also possible to knit something that will come out cheaper than if you had bought it for ready-to-wear.

How many hours does it take to knit a sweater?

The median time is about 21 hours of knitting. This sits right around the median knitting time for sweaters made out of my favorite yarn weights (DK: 24 hours, Worsted: 21 hours). However, I’ve also made one or two sweaters out of Fingering weight, which has an estimate of 32:20 hours.
